Americans do love their pets. In fact, most consider their dog, cat, bird, etc. as members of the family. If you notice people at social gatherings you can quite often find people telling funny stories to friends about the latest amusing antics their pets have done. You will even find pet owners buying birthday and Christmas presents for them in America. Now, maybe they do this in other countries too, but it seems like Americans are really crazy about their pets. Pet owners quite often cuddle and snuggle with their pets when they are not feeling well. The amazing thing is that their animals also seem to notice when their owners are not feeling well and will try to comfort them too.
Have you ever thought what the world would be like if we could not have such wonderful creatures in it? Most pets are well behaved, but then again, some can be a little challenging when they tear up furniture or fail to be obedient to their owner and run off. What pet owner has not experienced coming home and finding that their beloved puppy has shredded their favorite slippers or their cat has soiled the bed? These things do happen, but no matter, we will still love our pets as if they are our children.
Quite often pet owners and their pets will suffer from separation anxiety if the owner leaves on a vacation. Pets can become bored and lonely just like people. The good news is that when you cannot take your pet with you on a vacation you now have the option of boarding them or hiring a pet sitter for them. Many people with pets are doing this now. People who have several pets find that it is better to hire a pet sitter when they go on vacation to keep watch over their animals and make sure they are fed, watered and exercised. Yes, pets are wonderful creatures and enrich our lives on a daily basis and most pet owners take necessary steps to care for them, even while on vacation.
