When cell phones first came into the business world, they were devices that allowed you to make phone calls. That was it. They became popular among more mobile employees such as outbound sales representatives and on site technicians. Now, the cell phone has almost limitless capabilities and more levels of workers now carry them attached to a corporate account.
When it was just a handful of people using corporate cell phones, managing the plans was a fairly simple task. With numbers climbing steadily and the complexity of the billing plans and available services increasing at an even fast rate, the need for some type of cellular management software becomes more apparent every day. Dozens of phone users carrying dozens of different cell phone models, each with different capabilities and plan requirements. Add in the various network providers and you end up with a tangled web of different costs, plans and devices.
Letting cellular management software can remove a great deal of the burden of tracking what plans and costs are associated with a given cell phone user. The cellular management software can give you a nice overview of the costs per each user, which is very helpful when assessing which services each user is justified in having, and who is causing overages in their communications or data limitations. Using cellular management software can also be helpful in track calls and the nature of calls, something which is very difficult or nearly impossible to do manually. Using cellular management software to keep track of statistics on data usage and SMS text messaging can also facilitate controlling costs before they get out of hand, assuming they have not already. It is too easy to let cell phones proliferate out of control and just add plans and not centralize management. As with any expenditure, its use should be tracked carefully and the best way to do that is to use cellular management software and let it do most of the work for you.
